In today’s landscape, the Information Technology (IT) industry is transforming toward a Software-Defined approach in data center (DC) management. It is evident that the Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) is enabling enterprises to operate in a more integrated and agile manner, unlocking the full potential of both private and public cloud services. Virtualization and SDDC technologies have firmly demonstrated their value and importance in the Vietnamese market. A recent VMware Cloud Index survey indicates that 83% of Vietnamese enterprises consider cloud computing a top priority that significantly influences their organizations.
Recognizing this trend, on June 9, 2016, SVTECH, together with its partners VMware and Juniper, co-hosted a specialized workshop titled “UNIFIED NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE – VMWARE NSX & JUNIPER PLATFORMS” at Lotte Legend Hotel Saigon. The event aimed to introduce new perspectives in data center management and network virtualization in Vietnam’s IT environment, addressing the evolving needs of local enterprises striving to keep pace with global technologies.

Mr. Hoang Manh Cuong, Deputy General Director of SVTECH, delivered the opening remarks, sharing insights on the current IT landscape in Vietnam and the new technology directions that SVTECH will expand and support for enterprises in the coming period.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thach, Director of Product Development at SVTECH, presented emerging trends and new definitions in next-generation data management (SDDC).

Mr. Pham Duc Phong, Senior Systems Engineer at VMware, introduced the VMware NSX network virtualization solution.

Mr. Doan Cong Danh, Senior Network Consultant at SVTECH, shared a detailed session on “Operating a Unified Data Center.”

The workshop attracted significant interest from senior IT leaders and experts across various industries including finance, telecommunications, broadcasting, power utilities, water supply, and oil & gas. Notable organizations included OCB, Sacombank, Vietbank, Mobifone, SCTV, Saigon Newport, Vietnam Airport, QTSC, PV Oil, Hoan My Hospital, and others.

Participants engaged in open and constructive discussions regarding the challenges within their own organizations and raised practical questions about Network Virtualization and SDDC for the guest experts to clarify.
Global technological shifts continue to deeply influence Vietnam’s IT environment, prompting enterprises to embrace a culture of innovation. As Vietnamese businesses advance their competitiveness through technology in an increasingly integrated world, Virtualization and SDDC will become essential pillars, enabling organizations to reduce operational and management costs while empowering them to pursue innovation and future-ready transformation.
