Having been with SVTECH for over 9 years, Nguyễn Ngọc Hiếu (SVTECH VP Hanoi) is a familiar name to SVTECHers. Known for his lively and humorous personality, Mr. Hiếu has always been a strong and unique character in his work, whether as a System Engineer or more recently in the BP Security department. So how does Mr. Hiếu “excel”? What is his definition of EXCELLENCE? Let’s dive into this in the article.
“LÀM CHẤT” = The Results of “Big” Projects
When asked about his personal definition of EXCELLENCE, Mr. Hiếu did not hesitate: “I let the results of the projects speak for themselves.” With strong expertise and many years of experience, Mr. Hiếu was handpicked to join several major projects at SVTECH. One of the standout projects is the implementation of the SOC solution for Techcombank, a project that strongly marked his contribution to “excellence.”
Essentially, SOC is a solution that includes 24/7 security monitoring services using SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) technology. It helps users detect information attacks, targeted threats, manage information vulnerabilities, and respond promptly to critical incidents. To date, the project with Techcombank remains the largest SOC project at SVTECH, involving many complex components.
When reflecting on this project, Mr. Hiếu’s proudest achievement was how he and his team successfully completed the project, meeting both the quality and timeline requirements of the client.
“After completing the project, Techcombank sent compliments to the entire team. To me, that recognition is worth more than any certificate or award,” Mr. Hiếu shared.
LÀM CHẤT = The Right Balance of QUANTITY + QUALITY
Such impressive results are the outcome of a long process of self-training and accumulating experience, which has allowed Mr. Hiếu to have the right amount of QUANTITY.
Working 18 hours a day, always ready to assist clients whenever there’s an issue, spending years onsite… this has become the “specialty” of engineers like him. But for Mr. Hiếu, it’s simply part of his “responsibility.”
Of course, things don’t always go smoothly, but Mr. Hiếu always knows how to take advantage of every opportunity to learn and adapt to each situation to complete his tasks as well as possible.
For him, these “quantities” are essential in gradually creating “quality.”
“LÀM CHẤT” = A Favorable Environment + Great TEAMMATES
Mr. Hiếu shared that there are three things he likes most about SVTECH: the culture, the people, and the environment. These are the foundations that help him always strive for excellence.
The culture of “Accompanying clients” is deeply ingrained in the people who are or have worked at SVTECH. Mr. Hiếu is no exception. The SVTECH environment also provides him with many opportunities for learning, training abroad, and activities that bond colleagues. As for the people at SVTECH, according to Mr. Hiếu, they are amazing teammates who stand by him anytime, anywhere. When things aren’t going smoothly at work, just thinking about the support of his colleagues gives him greater peace of mind.
“I always believe that to excel, you must first think right and do right. I always try to ask questions that get to the heart of the issue, to understand and empathize, without rushing to judge. And above all, you must have a real desire to be creative and excel, so you can truly break through. That’s what I’ve learned working at SVTECH,” Mr. Hiếu shared.
