SVTECH, in collaboration with PwC, VNBA, Ab Initio, and HPE, organized the seminar “Leveraging Data for Success” for banks

At the seminar on September 19, speakers shared insights on Data Governance Frameworks; practical experiences in implementing data governance; approaches to applying Gen AI in the banking sector; challenges and solutions when deploying Gen AI; advanced converged data platforms and the rising importance of metadata; and AI data platforms as foundational systems for operating and leveraging data in AI applications.

According to PwC’s report “Unlocking the Potential of Southeast Asia’s Sustainable Finance” technology and data will play a critical role in enabling ESG practices, with artificial intelligence becoming a key driver. However, PwC’s 2023 Southeast Asia Digital Banking Survey highlights that banks continue to face major human resource gaps—top among them are data analytics/data science skills (67%), followed by business analytics (48%) and enterprise architecture (37%).

This topic was extensively discussed through sessions covering: comprehensive data governance solutions, data governance frameworks, and the application of modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Gen AI. The event received high appreciation from banking and financial experts and leaders for its practical relevance in a context where banks must rapidly adopt the latest trends in data governance to enhance competitiveness and ensure sustainable growth in an increasingly complex digital environment.

Experts from PwC, Ab Initio, and HPE also presented real-world case studies and implementation experiences from banks outside Vietnam.
